Elephants killed near Botswana wildlife sanctuary

Summary: Carcases of nearly 90 elephants have been found near a famous wildlife sanctuary in Botswana, which has the worlds largest elephant population. Elephants Without Borders, which is conducting and aerial survey,  said the poaching deaths is the largest seen in Africa and when compared to research from 2015, they are recording double the number of fresh poached elephants anywhere else in Africa. This spike in poaching deaths coincides with the disarming of Bosnia’s anti-poaching unit which had kept the incidents of poaching in the country very rare due to their unforgiving approach to poachers.

With 130,000 Elephants, Botswana has been described as their last sanctuary. But will that continue to be true with the lack of military weapons and equipment to protect them from poachers? I think not, some of the latest killings have been found deep in Botswana which to me says that the poachers won’t stay on the outskirts anymore because they don’t have anything to fear from killing the elephants.

  1. this is terrible :( I don't understand how someone can willingly kill an extinct animal for game, this just shows how desperate people can be to get money illegally and support their families.

  2. ^ I agree , I don’t think it’s fair that a defenseless animal is getting killed off for a humans personal gain.
