Donald Trump calls New York Times op-ed 'treason' and claims it has 'back-fired'

President repeatedly suggests article is treasonous despite it clearly not meeting the legal definition.
"Published on Wednesday, the column appeared days after the release of excerpts from a book by famed reporter Bob Woodward that portrayed Mr Trump as prone to impulsive decision-making. The excerpts said aides sometimes tried to limit what they saw as damaging behaviour by disregarding his instructions."
"The unsigned opinion piece has so far drawn disavowals from at least 11 top advisers to the president, including Vice President Mike Pence, Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary James Mattis, all of whom denied any responsibility for its authorship."
Anonymous op ed was published in the New York times, revealing many secrets of the White House and exposed the truths of what Trump was doing.Trump was quick to fire back, claiming it was an act of treason. Though nobody is completely sure of who wrote it this has caused a major stir in the political world and will be definitely be interesting to watch how this plays out for the next election.https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-new-york-times-article-op-ed-treason-rally-president-anonymous-who-wrote-a8526606.html

  1. I find this to be very interesting I allways enjoy it when President Trump produces accusations with absolute no facts, or calls fake news, this is very intersecting.

  2. I love how freedom of the press is apart of the Bill of Rights and yet one person speaks up about “an incriminating” subject and somehow Trump feels it necessary to call treason. Love that.

  3. I like how such a large media outlet is willing to use an op-ed to speak against something so true in my opinion against someone with that much power. I believe that president Trump was wrong to call this act treason, but I'm glad to see people speaking out.

  4. I like that the New York Times made this statement by releasing this article, because it could have a serious effect on its millions of readers who are entitled to know what happens in their highest office of government everyday. I believe that President Trump and all government should stay out of the media's business because they have the freedom to print anything that they like.
