On Thursday night a Dallas police officer shot a man in his home which she had mistaken for her own. She had parked one floor above hers and arrived to an open apartment door with the lights off inside apparently. She saw a figure and open fired with her pistol assuming it was an intruder. According to the Dallas county medical examiner the 26 year-old victim, Botham Jean, died of a gunshot wound to the chest and ruled his death a homicide.
This is a tragic story and should not be allowed to happen to anyone. Police brutality and gun violence are very large issues in America. A person should not be killed in their own home but it’s a real problem and has to stop happening.
