Skyler Tepedino- Oakland Fire Has 24 People Killed

Summary:
According to CNN, over the weekend 24 people were found after a massive fire during an electronic dance party. After the warehouse sparks into flames, crews have already searched 20% of the two story building and still have 80% to go. Crew members said that the death toll rate is expected to go up due to the vast amount of fire that spread throughout the whole building. Fireman after fireman, they were all coming out with buckets full of debris to be loaded onto a truck that takes the evidence to be reviewed by officials. The fire was so gigantic that it was unsafe for emergency responders and firemen to enter the warehouse, and eventually the roof plummeted and then parts of the second floor fell onto the first floor. Stories from some of the survivors are so devastating; one story said that he was trying to pull his friend out, but he had to let go because the smoke was getting into his lungs and he couldn't breathe. The smoke was that heavy that you couldn't even breathe.

Analysis:
While I was reading the article, I felt so bad for the people in the warehouse. families of the loved ones, survivors, and even firemen because death is such a devastating topic and for the firemen it takes an act of bravery and thats something that most people lack. This can be synthesized to another fire that occurred in Oakland Hills 1991 that killed 25 people. Now Oakland has two devastating fires that sadly be remembered. A lot of horrible things are happening in the world no a days, and I think we need to appreciate the people in our lives and the life that we have because it can be taken away quickly. Sometimes I think that we take advantage of how good we have it and we need to savor every moment we have on this earth before its too late... and you never know when that moment will come, so make everything count.

  2. This is horrible! I agree with Liam, I am praying for the families of the victims. This shows something about electronic dance parties... they are more dangerous than we think that they are, and I believe precautions should be taken to avoid another situation similar to this!
