North Korea launched a ballistic missile off the east coast of the Korean peninsula, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said Friday. The South Korean military said it was closely tracking and monitoring the situation and maintaining a readiness posture for any North Korean provocation. The launch was confirmed by U.S. officials. Tensions have heightened on the Korean Peninsula since a fourth North Korean nuclear test and joint US - South Korean military drills. North Korea has warned that it would make a "pre-emptive and offensive nuclear strike" in response to the joint exercises.
If North Korea is launching these missiles it means that they are no longer just going to threaten their enemy countries, including the United States. Therefore, the US government should prepare for North Korea's attacks.

This is so scary to think about! It reminds me of the nuclear arms race that we had where countries were threatening each other with the use of nuclear weapons.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, the US government should prepare for this attack.

ReplyDeleteIt seems as though North Korea is psyching itself out and claiming that countries are going to attack it so it is going to attack back, when really South Korea and the U.S. are trying to protect themselves and the rest of the world from North Korean provoked attacks.
We should definitely prepare ourselves for an attack because this is strikingly similar to the nuclear arms race that we have seen earlier in history. They are prepared and willing to fire.
