Locked away because of a mental disorder.(Alejandra Hernandez 6th period)

Summary: This article talks about how people in Indonesia people who have relatives with mental disorders are often locked up. In Indonesia, mental disorders are associated with devil work. Instead of getting their relatives the medication they need, they keep these people  in a room for most of their life.  Besides the fact that they aren't educated enough about the human body, obtaining medicine for their relatives is very difficult. There are only 48 mental disorder dedicated hospitals for a population 250 million, not to mention the fact that the healthcare is expensive.

Analysis: These things occurring in Indonesia is the lack of many things. After all America would be in the exact situation if not for Dortha Dix(she went around the nation fighting for the rights of people with mental illnesses),  Horace Mann(who was the first to introduce education; it was later improved), and Lyndon Johnson (who signed the law to provide medicare and health insurance).
