Texas Floods -Hadassah Lai

Texas has been coping with widespread flooding after severe storms. For almost 10 consecutive days, rainfall has been constant day and night. Wimberly, Texas and Houston, Texas have been declared in states of emergencies. Many have lost their homes, cars, pets and even loved ones. 34 people have been found floating in the flood waters. 14 are from Texas, 14 from northern Mexico, and 6 from Oklahoma. They are all dead due to the tornadoes and flooding from the raging rivers. 10 people are declared missing. Yet, the rain hasn't stopped, and in fact, more rain is coming.

Texas, one of the hottest states I've ever been in, is now surprisingly the wettest state I've ever been in. The deaths are of course extreme tragedies, and many are grieving over lost possessions and houses. There are many instances in American History where the people have been majorly affected by severe weather conditions and this rainfall is about to make it in the books. I hope that everyone else is safe and that we will learn how to handle flood waters.

  1. Who would've thought that out of all states, Texas would be receiving various flash floods almost for almost ten days in a row?
