Police in Freddie Gray Case Found Guilty- by Rachel Devine (6th)

The six police officers that have been accused of killing Freddie Gray were, indeed, found guilty on Friday. Protesters all around the country are rejoicing because they feel like justice is being served. The other person that was being held in the same police van clarified that he didn't think Freddie hurt himself intentionally. People are calling the officers' actions "grossly negligent" and their punishments to be "well-deserved."

Everything going on in Baltimore can easily be connected with the Civil Rights Movement of the 50s and 60s. While African Americans have obviously made much progress since then, it's evident that the struggle for equality is still very real. What happened to Freddie is terrible and we can only hope that as a nation, the racism stops.

  1. I think that justice is going to be served. We're really repeating history, and I hope that we can get rid of racial injustice once and for all.
