Liberia is now Ebola free. However, the surrounding regions are still suffering through the disease, and precautions have to be taken to keep it from reentering Liberia. It is a precarious situation, but if they can simultaneously work to rid other areas of Ebola and protect Liberia from encountering the disease again, then there's a possibility of completely eradicating it.
This was written by Jenny Anchondo for Fox 4 News. Health an transportation are two major factors in this article. The transportation of the disease could endanger many lives in Liberia and start the whole cycle over again. Of course, this is a major concern to the U.S. as well because there is the chance of the disease coming to America again. We've had problems like this before when the early British colonists and Native Americans were spreading disease to each other, but technology has made it so that this doesn't happen as often anymore. However, since this particular disease is so hard to fight even now, the spreading of it could have a huge impact on our country. Thank goodness Liberia is free of Ebola. I hope that this will continue until everyone is safe.
I agree with you, I am glad Liberia is safe from Ebola. Globalization has made it harder for diseases to be contained and we really do need to be working double time in order to make sure that countries like Liberia are not reinfected.
