A chemical spill in West Virginia left citizens without water. They couldn't drink or bathe in it for up to a week. Supposedly, the problem was fixed, and the state was given approval to start using it again. However, the people were still concerned. The smell of licorice was going around, which is an apparent sign of chemicals in the water. Schools have been closing down, due to complaints about the water, and the increasingly noticeable smell of licorice. Officials have run tests on the water and have said that no hazardous chemicals have been detected, however they cannot guarantee that the water is safe.
I think that this is terrible. 300,00 people without water to drink or bathe in is very serious. It's also concerning that despite the lack of evidence of chemicals, that people can still smell it. I know that I would be hesitant to drink or use that water.

Wow this is so scary! I couldn't imagine not being able to drink anything or bathe for a whole week.
