Summary: A couple
in Tennessee faces murder for being accused of killing the husband’s 5-year-old
daughter by making her drink excessive amounts of water and grape soda within a
two hour period.
“Alexa Linboom had taken one or two grape sodas
that belonged to her stepmother,” says district attorney Berkley Bell. "She was allegedly forced to drink so
much liquid that it caused the sodium level in her body to go down and caused her brain to swell," said Bell.
Alexa had become unresponsive so she
was taken to the hospital on New Years Day in 2012. Two days after she arrived
at the hospital, doctors announced that she was brain dead and removed her from
life support.
After two years of investigation,
they announced that Alexa had died as a result of fluid intoxication. Randall and Mary Vaughn, were both charged
with first-degree murder, two counts
of aggravated child neglect and aggravated child abuse. The parents are being held on a $500,000
bond. CNN News reported that they have
not yet entered a plea. The trial is
scheduled for October
Analysis: This is
just sad! How can you force a 5-year-old girl to drink like that? I’m glad that
they charged the parents, because they shouldn’t be able to get away with doing
something like that. If they are found
guilty, I hope they receive the maximum penalty for their actions. Parents should love and care for their children
and not harm them in any way.

I have to agree with you. This is absolutely ridiculous. Who would make someone drink this much, even soda? Like it would have been different with water but even soda. But even forcing someone to drink this much is sad. You can influence, but not force.
