Biker Buried Astride Beloved Harley in Plexiglas Casket - Carolyn Villalobos 4th

In Ohio, an 82 year old motorcycle enthusiast named Billy Standly was buried on Friday after dying of lung cancer. He started his own funeral arrangements 18 years ago, and when he first contacted David Vernon of Vernon Funeral Homes about his idea, Vernon thought he was joking. He bought the three burial plots next to his wife's grave in order to have enough space for the see-through casket he built himself with help from his sons. This would be considered odd enough if not for the fact that his wishes were to embalmed and secured upon his motorcycle, a $30,000 custom-painted 1967 Electra Glide cruiser with which he had ridden all around the country before his death.

Most people would probably think this is really weird, but personally I think it's pretty cool that he didn't let what other people think discourage him from planning this. And I'm glad that his sons went through with his last wish. He wanted to ride to heaven, and got to do so, with the whole world as his witness.

That actually sounds like a cool idea. Why not leave Earth with a bang? It's nice to see that his final wishes were granted.
