So, I'm sure ya'll have heard of the Biggest Loser..never really was into that show, but lately I've noticed several articles pertaining this show. I always thought it was interesting that they would make a show to help overweight people out and I respect the fact that these people are motivators and I have no doubt that they are doing nothing but helping these people. But after these people lose the weight they want, people start asking 'Did she lose to much'?; this is not okay. In this article, social media is buzzing over the "Biggest Loser's" 150 pound weight loss. Experts are saying that losing alotof weight with unhealthy methods can be dangerous. Being thin can be as dangerous as obese. When Rachel Fredrickson, age 24 stepped out on stage in the finale of biggest loser, jaws dropped; some wondered if she had gone too far. Being 5'5 260 pounds to 105, losing 59.2% of her body wieght. The buzz is that she looked anorexic and flighty on stage; moreover, with all the negative commentary Fredrickson has not responded to any of the controversy going on. What do ya'll think?

Personally, I feel happy about this change for Rachel. If she feels healthy, why should she feel bad? Its a burden taken off of her shoulders and you might as well keep it off than putting it back on. If I lost that much I wouldn't feel bad at all. I would actually feel pretty amazing. However, if she is taking any complicated measures that are risky to her health then I certainly would'nt encourage that. People are different and some lose more than others and society needs to accept that as well. To sum it up, I think Rachel looks amazing. Yes, she looks thin, but if she feels good, then why should anyone, even society worry?

Peace,

  1. Shows like "Biggest Loser" are great ways to encourage people, both viewers and participants, to work hard to achieve a healthier weight. However, It seems that people strive for "being thin" rather than "being healthy."
