Trump, Defending Himself After Flynn Guilty Plea, Says F.B.I. Is in ‘Tatters’
President Trump is angry at the
F.B.I. and is defending himself against the guilty plea of his former national
security adviser, Michael Flynn. He said
that the F.B.I.’s reputation was “in tatters-worst in history” and denied that
he had told Comey to the end the Flynn investigation. Former F.B.I. director James Comey testified
before Congress saying that Trump asked Comey to drop the Flynn inquiry after
Trump fired Flynn, but Comey refused to, so Trump fired him a couple months
later. On 6:15 this morning, Trump
tweeted that Comey was a liar and that he was spreading more “fake news”. The
tweet is following Flynn’s pleading guilty to lying to the F.B.I. about
conversations with the Russian ambassador.
Trump has accused the F.B.I. of having a bias against him, and only
performing a “phony and dishonest” investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email
scandal. He also accused the F.B.I. of
having the worst reputation in history because of Comey. The President has tried to get the attention
off of Flynn and onto Clinton by attacking the Justice Department about Hillary
Clinton’s emails again. Early this
morning Trump tweeted that one of the top investigators on the Russia inquiry,
Peter Strzok, has a bias against him, and another tweet that urged Christopher
A. Wray, the current F.B.I. Director to “clean house” because of Strzok. Brian Ross of ABC News was suspended after
reporting about what Flynn would testify, which led to a drop in the stock
market, so Trump tweeted about that too.
The article was written by Michael
D. Shear on December 3, 2017, for the New York Times. All of the information in the article is very
recent, tweets from the President were sent out around 6:30 this morning. The article was written for all Americans
because every American should be kept to date and aware of what the President
is doing, it doesn’t matter what President it is. The article seems to be a little biased
against Trump, but it could just be the way I read it. The article was written to explain the tweets
that Trump sent out this morning, why he sent them and what they mean. The article is important because our
president is having to defend himself against the F.B.I. and other news agencies, which I don’t think
is something that should be happening.
The man or woman running our country should have clear intentions, and
stick to them, but that doesn’t seem to happen in politics very often. The way this relates to history is during the
Civil War Abraham Lincoln kept having to defend himself to the people of the
North of what was going on in the war, and that he was doing everything that he
could to bring the Union back together.
It’s irritating how Trump can’t focus on the topic at hand, instead he continues attacking Hilary Clinton for her past. He should get off of Twitter and actually handle business.
ReplyDeleteit's hilarious how Trump will defend himself even though he's lying. What's even funnier is the fact that when Trump starts to be scrutinized, he'll bring up Hillary's emails as if they are his saving grace.
