Elijah Macias- North Korea threatens to strengthen nuclear force 'to the maximum'

Summary: A spokesman for the North Korea foreign ministry claimed its latest threat came in direct response to mounting warnings by the U.S. that it would no longer stand by while North Korea tests its nuclear arsenals.President Trump said a “major, major conflict” with North Korea has been a possibility, and so the U.S. has sent an aircraft carrier group to the waters off North Korea to carry out drills with South Korea."Now that the U.S. is kicking up the overall racket for sanctions and pressure against the DPRK, pursuant to its new DPRK policy called 'maximum pressure and engagement', the DPRK will speed up at the maximum pace the measure for bolstering its nuclear deterrence," the spokesman told KCNA news agency. The United States has made it clear that it is unacceptable for North Korea to have a nuclear weapon.

Analysis: Having such a serious issue with a psychotic nation such as North Korea, is very concerning. I have been all over this topic since it's emergence 3 or so weeks ago- i'm glad nothing has escalated but it's still not over. Trump has said that he will act if he has to- not specifying what would set him off of course. I do agree that North Korea needs to be restricted in their nuclear endeavors, i just hope that this doesn't take us back to the Cold War- or any war for that part.
This is very similar to the Cuban Missile Crisis of the Cold War era with the heightened nuclear tensions and the murkiness of the situation.

  4. This is incredibly frightening considering the damage that nuclear arms can do. If this were to escalate the effects would be enormous, who knows if anyone would actually survive it.
