An elementary school in Baltimore, Maryland has enforced a new disciplinary procedure. At most schools in the US, kids are disciplined negatively by being forced to sit in a silenced room doing nothing, or even cleaning, for hours. The "mindful moment room" is where students are sent while acting up. The counselors encourage students to discuss what they did wrong, while they calm down, and relieve their stress.

In the United States, children are often treated very poorly. A long time ago, children were disciplined with violence. Children were physically whooped by the teacher in front of the whole class. This not only caused physical, but traumatic and embarrassing pain. This article helps demonstrate the American school system's evolution of discipline. It has positively changed for the better.
