Summary: This article speculates how unknown America's political future is now that Trump has been elected president. It highlights that throughout his campaign he was very unclear on many of the issues that were supposed to be addressed before the election. He never presented a thought out healthcare plan or taxation policy that will effect our nation in the future. The article also brings up that global warming will most likely be ignored considering that he's skeptical of its existence. His policy on foreign relations was also never totally laid out besides the fact that he claims to want to put "America First".
Analysis: This article by David E. Sanger from the New York Times was written to lay out the issue of America's unknown future. The fact that presidential plans were never clearly presented is now a problem because Trump's full plans are not known by the public. It should be concerning to our nation that we don't have strong taxation, healthcare, foreign policy, or environmental plans going into the new presidency. Trump's promises and plans for the nation never came to a focus throughout the election. Much of what he wants to do would involve taking our nation back to a near isolationist policy when it comes to international relations. He has also supported inhumane actions before such as the tactic of torture in the CIA along with Russia's bad treatment of the Ukraine. This election can be synthesized to that of Andrew Jackson's. Andrew Jackson was elected as a common's man's president over a more classic nominee and he moved the United States away from the policies they had previously practiced. Hopefully we will be more clear on what this unexpected presidency will bring in the coming months.

Yes, you make good point but can you name one president who has stuck by their plan they told during the election period? At this point people need to stop complaining and worrying about it when they will not do anything. It's one thing to talk about it and do something about it, but completely another to just talk and never fix anything.
ReplyDeleteAs some people may be upset about the results of the election and feel lost on what the future holds for America, it is important the we all unite and come together to maintain the true meaning of America.
ReplyDeleteThats whats so crazy about Trump is he is a total wild card, we have absolutely no idea what he's gonna do. He's not a politican but a business man, I think he's looking at what he wants to do and accomplish above all. I pray he will surprise us in a positive way as Obama and Clinton said, they hope that will happen too.
