Cutting babies

Recently a pair of conjoined twins were separated to their mothers delight. They were a pair of lively 13 month olds. They had been connected by the head. During the surgery the doctors realized they were much more conjoined than they thought and had to work around that. Eventually though, the two youngsters were torn apart and were assisted by doctors during the rehabilitation phase of their recovery.

Since the dawn of man we have been greatly improving our technological capabilities. By 2040ish we will most likely hit singularity. This act of complicated surgery is proof that we have come very very far from the sticks and stones we started with. Welcome to the new age.

  1. It is impressive that we live with this technology. Unlike colonial era where much more people died, because they didn't have advance surgeries or medicine or even correct disposal of waste.

  2. This is so great to hear. I remember hearing about a similar story years ago. It is unbelievable that they could save the twins' lives. The parents must be so happy. The doctors deserve praise for this!

  3. The thought of arriving closer to singularity is really kind of interesting to think about how human civilization will evolve. While I don't think it'll be specifically catered towards the separation of conjoined twins, I do agree that our progress in the medical field shows signs of increasing human capabilities.
