Chance the Rapper Rallies Voters With Chicago Show, Leads Parade to Polls - Bakari Williams

Summary: International music star 'Chance The Rapper' held a free concert at 3 pm in his hometown of Chicago on the night of the election that ended in a rather peculiar fashion. After many opening acts, Chance ended up only going though 3 songs but that all led up to the true highlight of the night. After performing his final song, Chance walked off stage and led a large police escorted crowd of thousands through the streets of Chicago to a voting poll just a few hours before the polls closed. Chance is already a pretty controversial celebrity as it is due to him not signing with a label and releasing all of his music for free, but this latest stunt could very well make the face of change in Hip-Hop. Although there were definitely many angry drivers because of the parade in the middle of rush hour but he is encouraging many more young people to take advantage of and utilize our fundamental right to vote.

Synthesis: This can be very much so connected to the first time that president Andrew Jackson was elected. The common mans vote was the big change that helped him achieve presidency and until democracy falls, the right of every man and woman to vote will be what makes America such a great country to be proud to live in.
