Dalton Wolfe- Massive Earthquakes in Chile Capitol

This Friday Chile encountered a powerful earthquake within the capitol of Chile and the areas around it. Although buildings across the city shook and trembled, none fell no reports of serious damage or injuries. Authorities have predicted that no tsunamis will follow so it seems despite its 6.4 magnitude disaster has been completely avoided. These results are much better than previous disasters like in 2010 where over 220,000 homes were destroyed and 500 were killed due to a tsunami in the area.

Thankfully disaster was avoided today in Chile and hopefully this can serve as en example of what advanced architecture and other preparation methods the Chile government has created such as developing technology to more quickly predict tsunamis and earthquakes  can do to prevent tragedy in a country and hopefully they will continue to make further advances to protect the people.

  1. I think we should consider adopting some of chile's architectural techniques to prepare us for any natural disaster that may happen.
