Summary: In August, North Carolina pushed for more confining early voting practices with the purpose of benefiting the Republican party. The number of polling places has diminished, making it even harder for minorities to vote when they are capable. Now, during the final days before election day, this has become quite apparent in the data of black turnout. Down by 8.7 percent from 2012, Clinton could lose a critical battleground state. In addition, there have been rumors that many Trump supporters are intimidating and harassing black voters.
Analysis: Both parties have done their fair share of intimidating, but this is a new low. We have been promised equality, but then when minorities have a chance to change the world, the GOP believes it would be better if this chance was inaccessible as possible. They have power so they use it and try to justify their unconstitutional actions. This is somewhat similar to the Alien and Sedition Acts given by President John Adams. These acts were a way of keeping the current political party in power and making it harder for people to successfully raise opposition to them.

It can be said that voting is how someone can get their voice heard and take part in deciding how they will be governed. Cutting of black turnouts diminishes even more of their right to take control over their lives.
