In another
environmental vs. economics crisis involving the Royal Dutch Shell
the company cleared a major hurdle that was preventing them from
drilling off Alaska's northwestern coast. This plan has been in
motion for years and while there are still many permits left to be
obtained before drilling can begin it seems that the clearing of this
hurdle makes most protesting obsolete. Protesters against the arctic
drilling have had all of their hard work cleared away in one swipe,
making their job much more difficult.
Struggles between people and the economy have always been huge, but people have started noticing that the world needs protecting at times. Much like when the presidents started the National Park Services to protect the naturally beautiful areas of the world, these people are trying to keep oil drillers from ruining the nature in Alaska.
