Early Tuesday morning Hillary Clinton who is campaigning for President for the next term changed her Facebook profile picture to a rainbow colored “H”. She advocated gay-marriage by doing so which reflected her positive attitude towards states who have legalized same-sex marriage. Within minutes, several thousand people retweeted her tweet on love and equality showing agreement and support.
There are many views on LBGT rights currently because of the different ways people can interpret love and equality. Hillary showed the side where it is okay to love anyone a person likes regardless gender which can be interpreted as a personal decision or it can be created into a law enforced by government. She wouldn’t have had the opportunity to express her opinion if it weren't for the rights of women, therefore all of the rights of LGBT and women are all related and they all have different views. LGBT rights have definitely been a consideration of the government and the states for the past several decades. If the executive branch and possibly upcoming presidents are addressing this issue in a positive way, this represents a positive approach to this issue.

I admire Clinton for being so bold by stating her position out front. At least she is being honest and upfront with her intentions.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be revolutionary if she becomes president, I hope she sticks to her stance!
