An anti-terrorism rally was held recently in Paris, France, attended by forty of the worlds biggest leaders and 1.5 million other citizens from around the world. With the absence of high-profile American leaders, many were questioning the loyalty and involvement of the United States in the movements. Those who were sent were of lowers powers of position and not the President himself. President Obama was at the white house over the weekend, and the Vice President was at his home in Delaware. Meanwhile, secretary of state John Kerry had a prior commitment in India. Having the most important faces of the country at home relaxing does not set up well for other nations. The press jumped at the opportunity to chew american leadership out, despite the fact that the President was in France last Friday to work with the french over the tragic terrorist events. Nonetheless, many saw this as a weak point in American leadership and overall involvement across the globe.
The reaction to take out some dirt on the is phenomenal. So many seemed willing to jump on the band wagon to blame America for messing up. As we do have numerous nations who oppose with what we do, there is constant criticism. Possible, the biggest leaders of the Nation did not attend this rally because of possible terrorist threats at an anit-terrorist rally. There is the chance that some drastic measure could have been taken to eliminate numerous world leaders. Who knows.

I agree that a lot of times people look for something like that and make it a huge deal, even though he was already there last week to discuss the same situation. And yes, they were probably just doing the safest thing.
ReplyDeleteOther countries always seem ready to tear down America even just for minor things. This seems a lot like people when one shoots down others to make themselves look better any chance they have.
