On Saturday May 31, 2014 a boat that carried six passengers on Lake Michigan, according to one of only two rescued passengers, capsized after catching fire. The boat was on a voyage from New Buffalo,Michigan to Burnham Harbor, Indiana on Saturday. A fisher spotted and an object in the water around 6 am Sunday morning and when he got closer he realized it was a man. He rescued him and called the coast guard, but he was rescued hypothermic after being at least 12 hours floating in the water. During the search effort another passenger was rescued, but four still remain in the cold waters on the lake very likely wearing a life jacket.
More hours have passed since the first passenger of the boat was rescued and the probability of finding the others is very slim. They are in below 60 degrees waters according to officials Sunday morning and may as well have hypothermia like the first rescued passenger. Hopefully they get rescued alive and taken care of.
