A woman in the city of Winthrop had a wood sculptor turn an old maple tree in her front yard into a sculpture. The city and the community has been very supportive of the sculpture which is in the shape of various animals. The wood sculptor does this kind of sculpting for a living. He regularly uses at least 7 different types of chainsaws to perfect his art.
This is a very neat idea! I've heard of many people who were upset because they needed to remove trees from their property but who were also concerned about destroying the nature. This is a fun alternative to the standard tree removal. It's good that this woman's community is standing behind her on this.
