Rashima Melson has graduated from her DC high school's senior class as valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA. Rashima has overcome endless obstacles to end up where she is today- she and her family are homeless. They live in their local homeless shelter, which has been converted from a hospital, with countless other families and people in the DC area.
Rashima has the most beautiful smile- especially when talking about her family. A strong percentage of the kids at Anacostia High School are homeless/ struggling financially, and Rashima says that the teachers at her school are genuinely invested in brightening their students' futures.
