"Police capture convicted murder who escaped from Michigan prison"

Summary:
Michael David Elliot, a convicted murderer, escaped from a Michigan prison on Super Bowl Sunday. He did not use any tools or weapons to help him get through the prison fences. He was captured on Monday by police after he had kidnapped a woman and forced her to drive him out of the state. The woman was luckily able to contact the police while the man was pumping gas at a gas station. She went inside the gas station and locked herself inside the bathroom, while Elliot drove her car away. He was caught Monday driving the stolen vehicle, resulting in a car chase. The man was also convicted of four murderers and an armed robbery from 1993.

Analysis:
Honestly, I am confused about how someone is able to escape from prison. You would think that a jail, the place holding hundreds of criminals in one building, would have the most strict and aware security of all places. However, for someone to escape so easily, this is apparently not the case in this situation. Hopefully issues like this bring about the demand for stronger security.
