Jailed for not returning vhs video after 9 years

Kayla Finley was jailed for a night after not returning a video she rented 9 years ago. She rented a Jeniffer Lopez movie, "Monster in Law" from a video store that is now out of business. The owner of the store claims to have sent many letters asking for the return of the video. Kayla says that after renting the video, she had to move out of state due to her husband's job that moved as well. Kayla had to spend a night in jail and got out on a 2,000 dollar bond.

It's quite ridiculous of this incident. Everyone has had a video that might be overdue at one point. Good thing we have Netflix and Redbox nowadays. It's silly that she got arrested and had to pay 2000 to get out of jail over a foolish crime which i'm sure could have been dealt with quite differently. Mistakes happen.

  1. I agree with you. I don't think Finley should have had to go to jail for this crime. There are many other ways the issue could have been dealt with more effectively.

  2. Wow, if they enforced this more, then everybody who ever frequented Blockbuster's would be in jail.
