"French Researchers Test Autism Drug in Children" - Camille Farrar

This article brings about exciting prospects for the future of treatment for those with autism. French researchers have hypothesized that autism is caused by the lack of a chemical happening in young children. The researchers have found that the drug they are testing caused significant improvements in the mice with autism they tested the drug on. Researchers are attempting to diagnose autism earlier as they believe the earlier they can start treating autism, the better results they will have. However, researchers are worried that families may begin using the drug on their own before it is released.
I was so glad to read this article! Research in the field of autism has not had a huge breakthrough in a while, and I hope this will be able to help many families. I am concerned about the prospect of families testing the drug on their own before it has been released as safe by researchers. If families do so, many children could be hurt and it could be detrimental to their health. I am very excited to see what comes of the potential treatment!

  1. What a fascinating discovery. Hopefully it will work, although I have to agree that the idea that families might try to use the drug before the researchers know for a fact that it's safe is pretty worrying,

  2. It's so exciting to hear about this discovery after doctors and researcher trying for so long to find one! I hope that positive results continue to be reported and that eventually a cure for autism will be found.
