Ethiopian Plane Hijack By Valerie Coahuilas

An Ethiopian Airlines plane destined for Rome was forced to land early Monday in Geneva, where the hijacker was arrested.The flight from Addis to rome was hijacked over Africa and landed at Geneva airport about 4:15 pm Sydney time after the piols issued a hijack call over the radio.The airline said one of its planes had been "forced to proceed to Geneva." Its website said the flight landed safely and "all passengers and crew are safe." It gave no further details. Police spokesman Jean-Philippe Brandt told The Associated Press that "the situation is under control" and nobody on the flight was injured, also stating that the hijacker has been caught. A spokeswoman for the Federal Office says that Geneva airports was closed due to the hijack and will soon open once more.
