One of his sponsors, Paul Ryan, was one of the 226 people in office that supported the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act", which would make it harder for women to get a post-rape abortion. Paul Ryan also voted to ban any drug or medication that would be used to abort a fetus, and Paul Ryan sponsored the Sanctity of Human Act, which would ban abortions and in vitro fertilization. Todd Akin's record isn't much better.
These are two Republican men, two closed minded, bigoted and ludicrous Republican men, that represent our great country, who are trying to control and completely ban what women have the RIGHT to do with their body. Todd Akin obviously didn't pay enough attention in health class, or he's been paying too much attention to what his "God" has been telling him, because last time I check sperm + egg = baby. If you have sex, consensual or not, and that sperm fights his way and break into that egg, a life will be formed. As a proud human of the female persuasion, it's really peachy hearing from someone, who has no clue what it is like being a woman, what actually is legitimate rape and if in fact I am raped at some point in time, I can just simply shut down my body and BOOM! no baby will be conceived. (Is he going to fund classes on how to properly shut down your body during said "legitimate rape?" Because God forbid if that ever happens to me, I do NOT want to be denied an abortion because I did not properly shut down my body!)
Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney are trying to show that Todd Akin is on the outskirts of the GOP's mainstream, but let's get real. We all know how big of an idiot Mitt Romney is, and I've given evidence of Paul Ryan being idiotic. And although Todd Akin released an apology, it does not take back the atrocious things this man has said. It does not take back the fact that these Republicans are trying to deny women of their rights, and it sure as hell won't take back the anger and disgust I feel when I read some of the statements these men have said.
Obama '12, man. Obama '12......

That was an exremely idiotic thing for him to say. Women can't just decide when it works and when it doesn't.. Haha..
ReplyDeleteI don't think any man should have a main say in women's rights, especially when it involves our special lady parts. Those guys are ignorant.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I hate when men try to tell women about their bodies and act like they know everything. I think he realized what a stupid comment it was...hopefully he did. I mean, abortion is something that is totally opinion based and I understand that there are two sides to this long-term debate, but Todd Akin just totally screwed up his chance to try and get people on his side. FAIL.
