National Zoo-Panda Story by Carter Brown
Yesterday, on September 23rd word spread that a six day old panda had died at the National Zoo in Washington. The cub had been given birth by a 20 year old giant panda. After 6 years of failed attempts, the 20 year old mother panda finally gave birth, but in less then a week the baby died. The baby had been in very good health and condition, but the causes of death are not yet known. As an animal lover, I find this story very sad and it is unfortunate to have happened. The mother panda has shown signs of resent, but is interacting with her keepers again.
