Sex abuse involved in The Boy Scouts Of America: Ashley Ragsdale
A sex abuse support group called on the Boy Scouts of America to oust any official still with the organization who was involved in covering up child sex crimes. The demand by the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests was in reaction to a Los Angeles Times story detailing previously sealed files that it said showed scouting officials "failed to report hundreds of alleged child molesters to police and often hid the allegations from parents and the public."
Although the Scouts learned of most of the abuse allegations after they were reported to authorities, the organization learned about more than 500 instances from boys, parents, staff members or anonymous tips.

Oh my God this sounds horrible!
ReplyDeleteYES okay omg this summer I read about this, it was one of my controversial articles. Did y'all know The Boy Scouts of America does not accept gay members or gay leaders?!?! That's totally ridicuouls I don't know how that's even legal. Anyway yeah they tried to cover it up by blaming molestations but just because someone is gay doesnt mean they're a pedophile! Goodness! This is supz controversial. I feel like the Boy Scouts have totally undermined themselves and are losing sight of their real values!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the boy scouts aren't just learning how to build fires and make teepee's anymore.
