Russian President Voices Concerns About The United States Presidential Election by Clara McLain

David M. Herszenhorn of the New York Times wrote an article regarding the concern of Russian president Vladimir V. Putin of the United States presidential election. The plans for an American missile defense system in Europe is being opposed by Russia due to the concerns the missiles will be used against Russia. "Mr. Putin said he believed that if Mr. Obama is re-elected in November, a compromise could be reached on the contentious issue of American plans for a missile defense system in Europe, which Russia has strongly opposed." (Putin says missile deal is more likely with Obama nytimes.com) But Putin later brings into attention a comment Mitt Romney made about Russian being America's 1 foe. Putin had spoken with president Obama and Putin is in favor of the current president being re-elected, due to personal concerns for Russia. Though, the comment of working with whichever man is elected president of the United States was made by Putin.
My opinion about this article is that it shows the concern of president Putin, which is reasonable, but the speculation of what Romney would do to damage Russia if elected is taken too literally by the Russian president. But this is probably due to the Cold War.

I suggest everyone takes the time to look at this article for further detail. It's actually pretty interesting.
