A former L.A. gang member was recently exonerated of his murder charges after being in prison for 19 years. It is now thought that the main witness from the drive by shooting lied. This all raises a lot of thoughts and questions to me. First of all, this man has wasted 19 years of his life in prison falsely accused of murder. What is going to happen to him when he is released? Will there be any compensation? Also, what would happen to the witness that lied? That's a really big deal. The justice system is such a complicated thing. Judging by the article it doesn't really sound like this man was convicted under a lot of solid evidence.
