Skagit River Flooding - Taylor Townsend

Skagit River flooding forces dozens from their homes on Thanksgiving. The Skagit River reached its highest level in 11 years Thursday afternoon  which caused major flooding in the towns of Mount Vernon, Hamilton,  and Concrete.  More than 250 people have been displaced, says Skagit County Emergency Management. Several families were forced to leave their homes in Hamilton on Thanksgiving night.

These families definitely didn't expect to spend their Thanksgiving holiday in a Red Cross shelter and a church. A victim of the flood, Kaleigh Martinson says flooding is nothing new in Skagit County, but in the eight years she’s lived here, she never expected to be affected.
