Heavy Snow falls Over Hawaii's Volcanic Peaks
Although it snows almost every year on the peaks of Hawaii, it hasn't snowed this much in a long time. The snow was expected to cover Hawaii's big island this week. They have issued some winter weather advisories for most areas some expecting 2 inches of a snow and ice mixture and some expecting about 6 inches. The temperatures have gone along the freezing mark this past week and the island is seeing about 6 inches of rain. So, if it does get cold enough it will for sure snow and could potentially cause many dangerous situations for these people.
It is crazy to hear that they are already getting snow like that. Where here all we have seen is pretty warm temperatures ranging from mid sixty's to eighty's. Not anywhere near close to freezing. I hope that the people in Hawaii are prepared and have warm clothes. Im not sure it gets very cold there. This year the weather situation has been all over the place with the three hurricanes and the hot weather in December. What is going on? Maybe the weather will get colder later this year?

  1. I find it so odd that Hawaii out of all places would have snow. When I think of Hawaii, I think of beaches and the hot sun, not cold rain and snow.

  2. I think global warming is having very irregular effects on the world's climate, and even though its global WARMING, the temperatures can still fluctuate.
