Summary and some background info:
Who was Brock Turner?
A rapist.
He was found behind a dumpster having sex with an unconscious woman. There were 2 eyewitnesses to this and reported this occurrence to the police. the kicker is that Brock Turner was charged for 6 months in prison instead of the recommended amount (by prosecutors) of 6 years. Understandably, people who outraged by this.
So what happened now?
Brock Turner and his legal advisers want to go back to court for an appeal. The reason why is because they feel like his case was treated unfairly. The legal adviser said the jury had limited character testimonies, the jury didn't have the option for a lesser sentence, and that there was "extensive "Behind the dumpster" propaganda".
Thoughts:
I thought this was some kind of joke, but nah, it's real. Turner just has to act like he was the victim even though he was clearly in the wrong. Rape is rape.
How it relates to history:
Mark Hullet raped a girl on multiple occusions while she was between 7 and 10. Judhe Edward Cashman gave him 60 days. Luckily though, people saw the wrong and the sentence was increased to 3-10 years.
