Mud Dragon Dinosaur Unearthed by Dynamite at Chinese Construction Site by Macey Kanaman 8th Period

Summary: Recently, in southern China a new species has been discovered. It was found when workers exploded the surrounding rock near the construction site. They have named the dinosaur Tongtianlong Limosus. Scientists believe it came from the Cretaceous period, which was about 70 million years ago. This dinosaur was said to have died in a mysterious way, with it's beak stuck in the mud and wings extended. This explains the translation of it's name, "muddy dragon on the road to heaven".

Analysis: I think it's extremely crazy how we are able to find out about animals that lived million of years ago. How these bones are still intact amazes me. I am synthesizing this to fossil fuels and how important it is to search for cleaner energy. Oil takes an extremely long time to form, these bones that were found from almost 70 million years ago prove it. However, it is still amazing how these bones are still there are we are able to know about animals that lived so long ago. Our technology has provided us with more information people 200 years ago could not have imagined.

  3. I like reading things like this in the midst of all of the election news. It's neat that just when you think we can't possibly go any further in the field of scientific discovery, we find a whole new species!
