As you may have guessed from the use of the name of the article and the hashtag, the 'Mannequin Challenge' is a new trend that has been going all throughout social media. This is basically people standing completely still so they look like mannequins, hence the name. It is a simple concept, but in a way, also very humorous. This first began in a high school in Jacksonville, Florida by a kid named Emili. The humor was easily brought about and eventually spread to celebrities such as Kevin Hart, 2 Chainz, and even the Dallas Cowboys.
Something so simple can go viral so quickly, so it is no doubt that social media took this turn. America has been consumed with electronics and advances in media, and this can be looked upon in a negative or positive way. The advancements can be "exciting," "intelligent," and "useful," but others may differ. This correlates to time in history during the Industrial Revolution when simple inventions, such as the steel plow and the steam boats, were invented. During that time, people either played against these advancements or strongly supported them. Time continues and people with intelligent minds create constant advancing things. Who knows what will happen next?
