Emma Lochabay- La Niña Arrives to Mess with Winter Weather

La Niña arrived in the Pacific Ocean and will be there for the following months. The CPC launched and advisory due to the lower than normal sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean. The projected effects of the weather system is drier, warmer weather in the southern US and wetter, cooler weather in the pacific northwest this winter. This presents a bad situation to locations, like the southeast, that are in a drought. As of right now, La Niña is weak and will hopefully stay as of so in the coming months.

Before reading this article, i had heard of the La Niña and El Niño tropical weather systems. With knowing very little about these weather phenomena, my viewpoint was not impacted by prior knowledge. This article was written for everyone who lives in the united states or surrounding areas because it includes information that impacts the future of this years weather. This article is relevant in our lives today because it contains updated information on the status of the cooler Pacific Ocean water. La Niña arriving could synthesize to when the english colonists came to America in the sense that a new thing has come to possibly change the future of what was already there.

  1. I haven't heard of La Nina before and it's true that this can be very impactful to the rest of the weather this year.

  2. Hopefully droughts in dry areas of the US won't get dangerously severe.
