Dalton Wolfe- South Korean Prime Minister to be choosen by Parliment

Park Geun-hye, the current president of South Korea has come under major fire for extreme links to corruption in that she has been found to have had a confidante, Choi Soon-sil, whom has instructed Geun-hye's many governing decision her past term despite having no official government job. This has led to to major public anger with many citizens of South Korea demanding that she immediatly step down despite the fact that her term was to last over another year. It has now also recently been decided that Parliament is to choose the next Prime Minister instead of her despite it being the presidents power to do so because of these charges. It is unknown how this massive shift in power will affect the country as time goes on.

This disturbing light of events has revealed a massive amount of fake democracy in South Korea as their elected representative to lead their government was nothing more than a puppet being controlled by someone else from the shadows. It is the worst fear of the common man and a major issue that I believe is not widely enough  known about by the people of the western world despite the fact that South Korea still has a colossal amount of influence on the world and more so than ever before in light of this new age of technology. This serves as a reminder for why we must always have a healthy suspicion of our government as our founding fathers have stated is necessary at all times. This change in powers currently occurring in South Korea also has unknown implications as it throws off their own system of checks and balances and could prove dangerous for their government but only time will tell.

  1. This is very shocking and concerning. I can't imagine how the people in the U.S. would react if this happened here. I can only imagine how betrayed the people of the South Korea feel.
