Vets Trying To Save Hero Dog's Life - Hannah Kalan 6th Period
February 5th, a 9 year old Boxer named Carmen sheltered her owners face in the basement of a Cincinnati home. Flames had engulfed the house and the dog had been trying to protect her owner in that emergency. Her owner, Ben Ledford, was taken to a hospital by first responders where he later passed away. However, Carmen is still alive and in critical condition at a critical care veterinary hospital. Suffering from sever lung damage, she was put on a ventilator as she cannot breathe on her own and has yet to be taken off.

Dogs can be so kind and heroic. This isn't the first story I've read where a dog really helps their owner in a crisis.
