In West Virginia, a train derailed and many of the cars caught fire. It destroyed a house and injured one person. There were also 100 to 125 people who were displaced after the indecent. Not only that, but the oil the train contained leaked into a river and could possibly have contaminated the drinking water. Citizens were told to boil their water before drinking it just as a precaution.
This was written by Holly Yan and Kevin Conlon for CNN. I wonder how the train got derailed in the first place, and what company it was owned by. We've had a pretty good railroad system for quite some time, and now it's owned by many companies. Thanks to Theodore Roosevelt, there aren't anymore big monopolies over the railroad. Now we don't have to worry about crazy prices and conditions set by a big company that owns everything. Of course, Teddy Roosevelt didn't get rid of ALL the monopolies. He mainly brought down the ones that didn't benefit him. But that's human nature for you. Why do something if you can't get anything out of it?
