President Obama Uses the power of Veto- Lossie Hudspeth
President Obama vetoes the Keystone Pipeline motivate America to pursue a higher quality energy source. His response to the bill may have upset a lot of republicans but his thought process was much like Teddy Roosevelt's response to saving the environment. In America so much is happening that is causing destruction to our nation's land. Was Obama's decision in America's good favor or was it to ensure America's future generations a home to appreciate?

This can also exemplify the struggles of a having a difference between the majority of the Congress disagreeing with the executive branch. A reason FDR was able to pass so many new regulations and administrations was because the Congress was on his side.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to see the difference between how much happened during Obamas term vs. Roosevelts because he had congress on his side. Showing that there is too great of a division in government to get anything done.
ReplyDeleteThis is also another example of how our government today is fighting against each other, rejecting any idea just because it comes from the other side.
