Three London teens lied to their parents about going to a wedding. Instead if attending, they got on a plane to Istanbul to join ISIS. Their parents have caller out to the to return home; however, the whereabouts of the teens are unknown as of now. All of their families are upset and distraught at the loss of their girls. Authorities are trying to stop amd save the 15 and 16 year old girls before they reach Syria and it is too late.
This is an extremely sad event. I wonder what exactly ISIS is telling all of these people to make them do drastic things such as this. It is absolutely crazy for these young teens to go running out like this and I hope they are caught and returned home in time. Also, I hope other situations like this can be prevented.

It's interesting to me that propaganda that seems so outrageously hateful to most of us can make so much sense to others..
ReplyDeleteThere have been so many other instances like this, in which teens have run off to join this terrorist organization. It is really awful to know that ISIS has been able to recruit teens around the world. I wonder how this can be prevented in the future.
ReplyDeleteWhat motivates *children* to join organizations as horrid as ISIS? I mean, we see what they do to innocents on television and read it online/in the papers. How does joining forces with them sound even remotely like a good idea???
ReplyDeleteSome kids aren't aboe to be exposed to the news about ISIS, and ISIS has taken over Kik, Tumblr, and many other social medias. Because if this, they are able to convince kids and teens that joining a religious group that will "bring the real ideas of the religion" to the world. Hopefully this will end soon, and hopefully teens will be much more exposed to the reality and news of ISIS.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that ISIS made these teenagers throw away their lives solely because of something they tweeted or posted on Tumblr. I think what made these teenagers so vulnerable to the idea of being apart of ISIS was either they had no idea what ISIS really does or they share some or all of ISIS' ideologies.
