The 1920's held promise for women who had just recently gotten a taste of what it felt like to be in the workforce. Men and boys were coming home from the war to greet their wives and girlfriends; however that meant that women had to resort back to their traditional roles. Though many of them were not through with this freedom of being able to provide for their families, so they kept at it. Flappers were the modern movement, breaking tradition to move forward in social status, it was another step in the still constant struggle of feminism we still see today.
Alyssa Marie is to be the first woman to lead the Texas A&M Cadet Corps. This high achievement marks another mile stone that women have been passing since the first convention at Seneca Falls (1848). However, she is only second in command, first position has been reserved for a dog. Sadly women still have quite a ways to go before they can be seen as equal.
