A small plane carrying a banner with an advertisement suddenly crashed into a house near Denver, Colorado this afternoon; setting both the plane and the house on fire. Thankfully the house was unoccupied although it was in a residential area and the pilot was able to escape with only minor injuries. Police spokesman Ron Haralson reported that the pilot exited the cockpit and received medical attention in an ambulence while firemen rapidly put out the fire. Haralson stated that he couldn't tell if there was a problem with the plane or the banner, but the plane started descending at too low an altitude. Although the pilot released the banner before landing in order to avoid damaging houses, a crash-landing eventually became inevitable. Details about the banner were not available.
I think this is a very weird occurence and I wonder what happened to cause the accident. Although no-one was seriously harmed, I still think they should've conducted a more thorough investigation of the accident so that this kind of thing doesn't happen again; as it was purely by chance that no-one was hurt.

This is really tragic. You don't expect these things to just happen out of the blue like that. My heart goes out to those involved
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that no one was seriously injured. Such an odd occurrence. Not many planes crash into residential, suburban neighborhoods.
