Summary: Earlier this weekend, when landing at the Sheremetyevo airport, the Russian Aeroflot Jet burst into flames and crashed. Of the 78 passengers on board, 41 were killed. Although today's transportation and technology are known for withstanding harsh conditions, the plane was mainly damaged due to a lightning strike that occurred. After a distress signal was sent, the airplane attempted two different emergency landings. On the first approach the plane was traveling too fast and during the second the automatic systems failed.
Analysis: This article was written on Sunday when the event happened, but was recently updated, just 9 hours ago. This means that the information presented is new and up to date. Although not an act of terrorism, this can easily be compared to recent airplane crashes (hijacking, and malfunctions.): some examples include the Malaysian airplanes that crashed a few years ago, and the airplanes hijacked and flown on 9-11. This article is targeting many airplane crash survivors and other people in the world who are concerned over the wellbeing of these survivors/people. This article was written to inform us about the accident, what we can do to prevent it, and how/why is happened. Before this article, I thought planes were invincible to most forms of natural disasters, but after hearing about the disaster and death caused by a simple lightning strike, I now know that it is possible.

Emma Burkey: It's truly terrible that plane crashes continue to occur. Sadly with something such as lightening, it isn't always fixable.
ReplyDeleteThis is catastrophic. Unfortunately, lightning can't be controlled.
